Startup Hudson River Biotechnology has raised €5 million in a Series A funding. The agricultural biotech company focusses on CRISPR-based genome editing in plants. However, with the new investment they can also focus more on the application of agrochemicals. Hudson River Biotechnology’s editing technology can be used or row crops, greenhouse crops and ornamentals. Their customers include plant-breeding and seed companies, smaller ornamental businesses and a growing amount of larger agribusiness corporates. Hudson River Biotechnology says they will use their Series A capital to further develop their nanotech, scale up their core crop-breeding business and explore market opportunities.
